Ursuline awards scholarships based on merit

Ursuline Academy awards scholarships of $8,000 ($2,000 per year) to several members of each incoming freshman class. The students are selected based on their performance on the entrance/scholarship exam taken in the fall of their eighth grade year; academic performance in seventh and eighth grades is also considered. All prospective students take the standardized test called the CTP 4 (published by ERB) and complete the essay question portion of the test. Additional scholarships valued between $16,000 – $28,000 ($4,000 - $7,000 annually) may be awarded at the discretion of the Academy.

All academic scholarships are renewed automatically as long as the student maintains a specific grade point average, receives no grade below a “C” in courses completed, and remains in good behavioral standing. A student’s performance is reviewed at the end of each year by faculty and staff.

For the 2010/11 school year, the Ninth Grade Admission/Scholarship Exam will occur on November 21, 2009. An application is required to be on file to register.
