Current Parent Annual Fund Status Report

UPDATE AS OF 03/08/10
This school year (2009/10), the Advancement Committee - a standing committee of the Board of Trustees - has set the goal for parent participation at 56%, just slightly above the NAIS/ADVIS reported average of area independent schools, which is 53%.

It is well known that in independent schools, current parents contribute the lion’s share of Annual Fund dollars. Ursuline Academy is no different in this regard. Roughly 30% of all Annnual Fund dollars come from parents of currently enrolled students.

PARTICIPATION IS KING!
Participation is “king” when it comes to the Annual Fund. Institutional donors (foundations and corporations) and individuals alike all look to see how involved a school’s parent community is in its fundraising. One very common metric used to measure this involvement is parent participation in the Annual Fund. And while dollars are important in fundraising, there is no doubt that the most important figure of all is percentage participation of the parent body.

DONOR CHOICE IS NEW THIS YEAR
This year, Ursuline is offering more donor choice within its Annual Fund. Annual Fund gifts may be designated to teachers’ compensation, professional growth opportunity for faculty and staff, financial aid or scholarships for students, technology, fine arts, or athletics.
